Gimme A Break!

You know, how obsessed I am with Christmas, right? And when starting the challenge,  I thought it would be a great idea. But then I read eight Christmas novels this last week and all this snow and lights and sleigh bells really make me gag. I have to live miracle-free for at least 48 hours or I might throw up for real when I stumble across one more single father finding a new mom for x-mas. Really? Is that all you can come up with? I have read great authors and three out of eight come up with this single father/mother thing. Why's that? And since when do vampires celebrate Christmas?? Ah, BTW, what's it with all those vampires? Do they drink human blood, yes or no? Can they run really fast and can listen to snow fall? Do they sleep during daytime? Do they sparkle in sunshine? Do they need magic jewelery to protect them from sunbeams?

You know what? Somebody ever came up with a single father/mother vampire finding a new werewolf mom for the blood sucker kids during Christmas? That would be a story I'd love to read. They might have bloody punch and listen to sleigh bells some hundred miles way. Yep, you find that book, you make me happy.

Did you ever feel like you got too much of reading? Let me know.

P.S. This is not meant to be taken too seriously. I'll be back to my former self once I got all the merry carols out of my head. *g*

  1. Well, if that's what you're looking for then 'A Bite Before Christmas' by Heidi Betts would be a good choice. It's a set of 3 novellas - no single parents, all vampires & explanations about why they celebrate, how, & what their drinking preferences are. I couldn't finish it - it was way to graphic & not the drinking part...

I agree with you! I devour Christmas books every year & sometimes really start to detest them. I usually read (& reread) the ones by Debbie Macomber because I know what I'll get.

  2. OMG, I didn't think there was really a book with all that stuff in it. I like the books by Heidi Betts, but haven't read any paranormal by her so far. Maybe I give it a try. Thanks for recommending it.

  3. What are the books that you have read in the last week? I have just started reading my first Christmas book which is Call Me Mrs Miracle by Debbie Macomber. I would love to see the Hallmark movie of this book but not sure we are able to get them down under in Australia.

  4. Shaz, haven't read it yet, but it is in my TBR pile. I will read it during the challenge though. I would love to see you discuss it once the review is up.
